  1. How wonderful Karen. Yes, we are SO blessed with wonderful children and grandchildren …. and now you have a great grandie!! My 2 lovely daughters have given me the joy of 5 granddaughters and we sure do through many ups and downs as life is lived and growing up happens. Not always easy as you know but seeing the love and maturity levels grow and knowing that faith is strengthened is heart warming and fills one with gratitude for all lessons learned. Blessings to you and all your faithful readers, Kathleen.

    • Thank you, Kathleen. Yes, it is a growth experience for all of us moms but the rewards seem to outweigh the challenges. God’s grace sees us through!

  2. Loved the story and photos with your daughter! Yes, it is such a joy when our grown kids continue to bring us joy. My three girls have given me four grandkids so far, and they all live within fifteen minutes of my home. YES! I think the grandchildren grow up even faster than their wonderful parents did. I look at them all and think, “Yes, the world is a better place for you being in it.” They are inheriting a tough world, but I think they are here “for such a time as this.” God bless them all.

    • Thank you, Kristi. I agree. This world is not easy for our adult kids and grands, but they will rise up just as we did in our time. I’m happy to hear you have such a wonderful family.

  3. I do not have children Karen but, it is always nice to hear good news about others’ children.

Your daughter is lovely and you look just alike!
(I am told often I look just like my mother too!) 😉

    Thanks for sharing your blessings!

  4. Karen, you are so blessed to have such a wonderful daughter! I LOVE the photo of the two of you ! I know you are so proud of her as you should be!Such a joy to know she is doing so much good!!I am blessed with a wonderful daughter also. She has been working as an administrator assistant ( AND manages a lot in the maintenance department) in the same church for almost 20 years and the pastor’s tell me they really do not know what they would do without her! Smile! I believe it, tho, as when the least thing goes wrong on the weekend (like the AC is not working right, or someone backs over a sprinkler head and no one at the church knows where to turn off the water)they call Tanya because she knows where everything is! I am blessed to have her and her husband who is like a son to me as my own son was killed in an auto accident when he was 35. My ONLY reason for mentioning my son is due to the scripture you quoted! I use the ‘older version’: “train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it”. My son was not living right but he was brought up ‘right’ and loved church, etc. THEN he and his wife started going to church and reading the Bible each day. The last photo I have of him he is holding his 10 month old daughter standing on the steps at home ready to go to church. He was a wonderful musician, great voice and I am sure he is still singing in Heaven!
Thank you for another wonderful ‘blog’. Margaret

  5. Dear Karen, I love the beautiful photo. May God return many more of His blessings to you and your wonderful children. Jing

  6. Thanks for sharing, Karen!I love the photos of you and your daughter. Yes, it is wonderful when our kids grow up in a way that blesses our hearts as parents. My kids are all in such various stages 3 in their early 30’s, 2 in their 20’s and 2 teens. Most are doing well, and a couple of them are struggling. But I love that we all have very close relationships – they are some of my favorite people to be with even beyond them being my kids. =) And I’m blessed with 8 grandchildren – #9 is arriving in July. It’s a delight to watch them all (kids and grands) grow in every stage of life from 34 to new baby soon. I only wish I was near them. Now that we’ve moved to FL, I’m far away from 5 kids and all grands. Thank goodness for Skype!!

    • So nice to hear from you, Laura. I’m happy to know you have such satisfying relationships with your adult children. My mother once said that her goal as the kids left the nest was to become their friend. It proved true.
